Welcome to Cushing, Texas—just 18 miles northwest of Nacogdoches in East Texas’s Piney Woods. The proud home of the Bearkats, our close-knit community traces its roots back to 1902 with a rich history as a busy lumber shipping center. With about 637 residents in 1.2 square miles, Cushing offers a friendly atmosphere, lively community events, and a commitment to enhancing life for all.
